The Sheringham Area Community Partnership, known as SheringhamPlus, had been successful in securing European and local government funding to further the economic development of the area. A number of projects were developed to maximise the impact from this funding, including improving the infrastructure. One of the main projects was to improve the marketing of Sheringham and its hinterland to encourage more visitors and thereby increase the economic prosperity of the area.

MK was selected by competitive tender to manage a two year programme. MK commenced with a series of focus groups, identifying the character and personality of the area. From this a brand personality was developed for use by the stakeholders, which in turn was supported by the production of a graphic identity. The central theme of the campaign was to enable and involve the stakeholders who were in reality the brand themselves. A comprehensive programme of publicity and profile raising was embarked upon featuring Public Relations, Direct Marketing and Internet Promotion.

MK's involvement has been extended for a further 12 months. Internet traffic to the MK designed website, Experience Sheringham.com, featuring a bespoke CMS, rose from zero to 29,434 unique visitors in 8 months and google ranking of 3rd out of 1.15 million pages.
