The MK Group points Client Hubbard Ice Systems to Top Industry Award
The MK Group has been successful in securing a leading industry award for its client Hubbard Ice Systems. The top prize was given for the company's ingenious Scotsman ACL 206 self-contained ice cuber, which, as well as producing ice, also forms shot glasses from crystal clear ice - the Scotsman Ice Shot.
Hubbard Ice Systems were presented with The Caterer & Hotelkeeper Equipment & Supplies Excellence Awards 2008, for the Food Display and Bar Installations category at the Hotelympia show on Tuesday February 19th. Hotelympia covers the whole of the ultra modern Excel exhibition centre in the heart of London's docklands and is visited by foodservice and hospitality trade representatives from the UK and Northern Europe.
The MK Group, who have been Marketing and PR advisors to HTG Trading, Hubbard Ice's parent company, for over 10 years, were pivotal in drawing up the successful awards entry as well as implementing a PR and marketing plan and stand displays to highlight the award at the Hotelympia show. An advertising campaign for the award-winning machine will follow, spanning the Spring/Summer of 2008, a vital period for ice making.
The machine has been marketed to the high-end, trendy bar market as an innovative and highly unique drinks promotion tool that will bring additional revenue to bars by holding ice nights. As well as offering novelty, the ACL 206 also offers practicality as it can produce Scotsman Extra Large, gourmet ice cubes - the ideal, slow melt cube for cocktail jugs and tumblers - at the flick of a switch.
The innovative Scotsman Ice Shot is the most exciting and novel use of ice in the beverage industry today as it has transformed an ice cube into a fantastic merchandising tool for premium liquor brands. This superb drinks presentation tool ensures that high quality, premium priced spirits and cocktails are served perfectly chilled and creates stylish, eye-catching opportunities for promotions, parties and most importantly additional revenue.
Ice bars are becoming increasingly popular in the UK and this innovation from Scotsman offers great earning potential for even the smallest of Bars.

Also present at the high profile awards ceremony was Sr Emmanuele Lanzani, Managing Director of Scotsman Industries who arrived from the Milan headquarters especially for the event.
